The OVC component of USAID Turengere Abana aims at improving the health and wellbeing of OVC and their families living with, affected by, and vulnerable to HIV and violence.
The OVC get HIV prevention education, linkage to health facilities for HIV services, economic empowerment for eligible OVC (joining saving and lending groups, supporting and encouraging their individual and group income generating activities), education support for OVC in education, and TVET support for the TVET eligible OVC.
The OVC parents and families are facilitated with positive parenting skills as well as economic empowerment to support the OVC well.
The total of 73,821 OVC and their families reached so far with HIV interventions.
This component is currently being implemented in Muhanga and Rwamagana districts covering all sectors.
